Hi,
My son is looking to purchase a Victory goalie helmet. He plays high school/prep level and wanted an opinion regarding models. He is looking at the V6 and the V8 models and pricing.
Thank you for any recommendation you can make.
Hi Laura,
I would highly recommend either model. Both are suitable options for a high school/prep player. The V8 is technically their “pro” level mask, but I would consider the V6 on par with many other pro models. The difference is in the shell. The V8 is a layered fiberglass kevlar and the V6 is a polycarbonate shell. The V6 is lighter for this reason, but the V8 would offer more protection.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!
They are not formerly Wall masks. Wall is a Finnish company used by the pros, and is still very much in business. “Wall USA” was supposed to be distributing original Wall masks, but they were making masks and labeling them Wall. They were told to cease and desist, so changed their name to Victory. They were never authorized to do anything but distribute Wall masks. The real Wall Masks explained this in a press release, check their FB in August 2018.
Correct, Wall Mask never went out of business, but their masks are not currently distributed in the USA. We carried Wall for years, but when that distribution partnership folded we no longer had access to Wall. With that said, the American made Victory Masks are very similar to the Finnish made Wall Masks.
