2019 Staff Stick Recommendations For Tourney Time
There is no more important time of year for a hockey player than tournament time! Tournament time is the culmination of the season. It also tends to be the time of the year when your stick has seen better days after numerous slappers, blocks and slashes. Fear not, this is a great time to consider a new stick and we have a few recommendations to narrow down the choices.
Bauer Nexus 2N Pro– This premium, pro level stick is the latest version of the Bauer Nexus line. Nexus stands out as the first of the “Hybrid Flex” sticks featuring a mid-kick point and Sweet Spot Technology for a natural flex. This is Bauer’s most versatile, elite stick.
Warrior QX Pro– A staff favorite for overall performance-to-value in a pro stick. This is the same stick used by junior hockey and college hockey teams. Introducing Bauer Supreme 2S Pro Stick- Welcome To Boomtown!
The new Bauer Supreme 2S Pro stick continues the legacy of the Bauer “power” line. The shaft will also continue to use TeXtreme carbon fiber, but will now include a new DuraFlex resin system which will help lead to a stronger and more durable shaft. Maximum Power Kick flex profile that we’re now familiar with on the Supreme line. The MPK flex profile leads to a 14% more energy stored during a shot while 20% more power is unloaded due to the stiffer and thicker lower third of the shaft and more flexible upper handle. The Sports Etc Stick Cellar: Now Open!
In early April we started demolition on what will be our new, dedicated hockey stick room in the basement of our Arlington, MA store. When completed this room will hold 1,000+ hockey sticks.
In recent days, all the electrical has been wired, wall studs placed and plastering has been completed.
Painting and slat wall should be completed by early next week. The hockey stick room will include a shooting area to test out demo sticks from companies like Bauer, CCM, Warrior, Raven, and more!
At the rate the project is moving, we plan on a soft launch in late May with an official Grand Opening in early June. Follow the progress on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts!
Update May 25, 2018– The Sports Etc Stick Cellar is nearly complete. Carpeting is down, electrical completed, slat wall hung and A/V system installed. The shooting alley, one of the highlights of the Stick Cellar, is finished and awaiting a custom shooting tap. There is still work to be done but we’re all excited as we get closer and closer to a Grand Opening!

The Sports Etc Stick Cellar is officially open! We recently added demo sticks from Warrior, Bauer, CCM and Raven. The shooting booth is fully operational and we just added some super comfortable custom Bauer stadium seats. We are very proud of the finished product and look forward to everyone getting a chance to check it out
